The attachment is a self directed walking tour that highlights Wentworth’s downtown Paterson buildings. It takes about an hour to make the full tour. The tour is contained with more detail in the book.
Paterson has a remarkable downtown core. Although many great buildings have been lost, even more remain. As you walk around, keep in mind that most of downtown Paterson was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1902 and largely rebuilt in a building boom over the next twenty years. As a result, downtown Paterson is a wonderful period piece of buildings from that prosperous and architecturally rich era.
We are fortunate to have so many buildings remaining that can be part of the revitalization of downtown Paterson.
The preparation and publication of this walking tour guide in 2007 was supported by a grant from the Koar George Fund, administered by the Paterson Historic Commission.
